8400 "signature" series radios

I ordered mine early on line. 8400M. since it is taking a long time to get to the shipping date for these, do I have a chance at one of the signed ones. doesn't really matter but just curious???

According to the Flex email, those with unfilled orders for the 6400M at the time of 8000 series announcement are first in line, then those who ordered at Dayton, then others. This assumes signature series preference is the same as shipping preference.

I gave my downpayment back in July.

I'd just like to get some sort of idea on when I could expect mine. Maybe an indication of how many are on the list ahead of me?

Ordered mine 18 May with deposit that day. Neil. Hopefully I have a chance at one of the signature models. but like i said it doesn't really matter. Been without a flex for like 4 months since i traded in my old Flex. withdrawal is real.😯 David, that would be nice info to have but I doubt it will show up.

If I am lucky I'll get mine by Christmas. LOL Ordered my 8400 with deposit in mid August. 3 months ago. I am lucky that one of my fellow hams has lent me his 6500 so I am still enjoying that radio since I sold my 6400. Wish Flex would give us all an update on estimated shipping or a least a number of where we are in the line for shipping. I emailed a few weeks ago and got an "in the can" response that they were running late fulfilling the orders as they had issues. Just waiting on the invoice so I can finish paying and they will ship.

Thanks Mike I got the email. However it did not have a link to pay the invoice. It only had the order info for the Radio, Tunner and trade in. Maybe I am missing something. I had the samething sent by admin on Facenook. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am not sure what I need to do next to pay the invoice.

You will only get an invoice if your new radio is getting close to shipping. Email flex8000@flexradio.com for further dialogue.

KB4OIF, I believe they are all signature series. What do you mean by “signed one”? Am I missing something or confused between signature series and signed?

The first few hundred radios have a special plate on the bottom of the case with the Flex Radio staff's signatures on it.

I hope you enjoy your 8400M as much as I do my 6400! Coming from a TS-2000, it was a huge leap in performance.

While you wait for delivery, read through the manuals. I did that and had a very easy transition to the Flex environment.

The 7610 is a really good radio. I looked closely at the 7610 and the TS 890. For the amount of time that I spent in HRO looking at those rigs, I bet the salesmen were certain that I would buy one...

I spent about an hour with my friend's 6400 and immediately ordered one. No regrets after 5 years!

You would have had to order at Hamvention at Xenia last year to have had a chance to get one with a Signature plate on it. Other than being able to say you have one of the first radios ordered, there isn't any benefit or difference in having one with the signatures on it. It certainly doesn't add any resale value.

I hope you get it soon. Maybe the holdup is some of the people that sign it are on vacation! Just kidding! I understand about being anxious about getting a new radio. Especially, after a long wait. I am hoping that the 8600M I ordered will actually ship in mid to late May as Flex Radio Sales said it should. Of course, they didn't say what year! I am certain Flex Radio will deliver the new radios. Unlike Apache Labs and the 1.5K radio they took pre-orders on three years ago and no longer reply to their buyers. ( I am not one of them) That's why I still purchase from Flex Radio. You will get what you order and pay for. Or you will get your money back. Cannot beat that!

I have a few other radios to help hold things together till the new 8600M arrives including a 5000A. ( unless someone buys it from me at the Belton Texas hamfest next month!)
