Why CAT VFO A selection took out "TX" from choices?

Once in the era of V.1, VFO selection of CAT had "TX" among A,B,C,D…, however, it was taken out from the selection, do not remember when, though.

Are there any technical reason not including "TX" in the VFO A selection?

I would be very happy if the "TX" choice is reviving among the VFO A selection of CAT, as I do not need to rewrite/confirm freq. column of Logger32 each time.

    Ken,

Any chance you can post a screen shot so I can understand this a bit better. I can't seem to wrap my head around what you are seeing.

I hope the screen shot below makes you understand what I am saying.

I want to log the transmitted frequency instead freq of the slice I set to the VFO A.

Ah, yes, I know what you mean. Some of us have the same problem with Ham Radio Deluxe logger, but since we now use SliceMaster as the connection, we no longer have that issue.

The workaround is not one you will like, but it does work. If you add an USB/RS232 cable to the back of the radio and connect it via null modem cable to an RS232 on your PC and then have Logger32 track that Serial port (Kenwood format), you will get what you need and it works very well.

The other is to use an API or NodeRed solution to share the TX Slice frequency via some path.

There is an RFE open to make this change but it is not on a roadmap and the request is for Software developers actually do an API connection to the radio to get the active TX Slice. Developers are welcome to join our developer program.

Not what you want to hear, but those are some options.

Thank you Mike for your prompt reply and work around suggestion.

I just wonder why it was eliminated from the selection list though once it was there in v.1 era.

There are a certain user needs for this selection, and it is simply a matter of you select it or not if you do not like it. So, if there are no particular technical problem, I would like to strongly request the software team to revive the "TX" choice.
