Flex series 6000/8000 power supply over voltage setting
Is there a suggested value of over voltage to which a power supply should be set?

Have used 14 volts almost daily for 6.5 years without issue.

use one of the flex volt meter apps to find a setting that keeps the voltage above 12.9 on transmit.

@John KB4DU - do you have a link to “one of the flex volt meter apps?” My quick search on this community and Google did not come up with anything that might be able to keep the voltage up on transmit. Thank you sir! 🤝

Perhaps I did not expressed my question clearly. I am in the process of installing a new power supply.
I can set the over voltage value at which "crow bar" is activated and and the radio is protected from an excessive power supply output. My question is what is the highest safe voltage the radio can withstand safely.
Do Flex provide this information?

13.8 VDC +-15%. That comes out to 15.87 V. I would set it to 15 or 16 V for overvoltage protection. I have my supply set to 14.2 V to account for ohmic losses in cables, connectors and fuses.

Been running my 6700, 24/7, since February 2018 at 14.5V with a 35A PS. Very short cables, appr. 20cm for minimum voltage drop. Never had a problem.

measure the voltage at the PA in the radio using one of the software tools mentioned. Do this at TUNE set to 100 watts then press Tune button to see voltage drop.
I run my supply at 14.8 volts on no load so if it had crowbar protection I would probably set it to 15.173

My 6600 kept dropping to 12.5 on 100W full carrier.
I cleaned the power poles, and added some DeOxit (there are many versions of this). Now, I only see a 0.1V drop with the same test.
