    OM Ezio,

Contact Flex and request a new TURF file. You have to provide the serial number of your radio as this serial number will be written into your TURF file used with your radio only.

I do not think you will make any progress with transmitting on 8 and 4m band due to hardware structure. You will be able to transmit on 160m band and on 60m. A possible option will be a transverter for 8 and 4 m bands.

If you add a high gain power amplifier, you will be able to work on 2m band.

40Mhz and 70Mhz are not part of any FlexRadio and cannot be enabled as Tom said as the hardware was not designed for those bands at all.

Hi Mike… I have a 6700 and when I run SmartSDR, there is an option for the 4m (70Mhz band).

Is this receive only, or does it work similarly to 2m, there TX output is thru the transverter output?

…….and a matter of interest will it be possible for series 8000 radios to work on 8m and 4m bands as a growing number of administrations permits radio amateurs to access these bands? Here in Australia we still have no access to 60m band, not mention 8 and 4m.

Hi Tom… as it happens now, when access is formally granted for access to new frequencies, Flex creates a new TURF file which is available upon request and easily installed. (I have a Canada-specific one installed now :-) ). I imagine that will be the same for the 8000 series. Unfortunately tho, I haven't seen any word of a 6700-like replacement for the 6700's 2m access.
