Reducing the impact of latency

When latency degrades beyond 1/4 sec, the beginning of the CW sidetone gets clipped. I can't tell if it is just the sidetone that gets clipped or if the transmitted signal also gets clipped. Yet I can see on the SmartSDR software what is the value of the latency time. If you know the latency, is it possible to delay the transmit signal/sidetone so that you don't get any distortion?

    Hi Bob,

There have been good progress in reducing latency. Make sure your CW delay is set slightly higher than the Transmit Delay.

Also, make sure you are running SmartSDR 3.7.4 or better.
