Loss of SSB transmit

I very rarely use SSB preferring CW and occasionally traditional Data like RTTY and PSK which are all working perfectly with my 6600, Windows 11. I use headphones, normally the old RadioSport model.

At first I thought the mic headphone plug had come out but was OK. then i suspecting the mic in the RadioSports so to see if that was the problem, I tried two other sets of phones i.e. Heil and Audio Technica. The TX for SSB did not work for these either so I now suspect the Flex audio setup maybe at fault?

Any ideas before I contact Flex?

Forgot to say. I normally use a footswitch rather than VOX. The footswitch is working fine.

There are a few things you can look into:

    • Is there any audio meter level deflection on the LEVEL meter?
    • Check the Mic settings… BIAS ON/BIAS OFF try both
    • Do you have the correct MIC input selected?

Thanks Mike for your reply and the utube video.

I tried two sets of phones again with Bias enabled/not enabled. I use a foot switch which when I depress it, lights up the MOX button and appears to show a low level of output on the panorama. Speaking into the mic with the footswitch ON does not move the mic level indicator at all, even with full mic gain and preamp ON. I have the mic plug in the correct socket and I have the correct mic input selected.

I'm beginning to suspect the Flex audio for SSB may be broken! Unless you have any other ideas I will have to contact Flex to see what they suggest.
