Plug and Play Remote Switch

I've recently run into a problem with my 6400 and the Plug and Play remote switch setup Flex sells. I've come across this several times.

If I turn on the 6400 via the remote turn-on, after 30 seconds to a minute of the radio being on and me connected via SmartSDR, it randomly loses connection to the radio, it just shuts the radio down. I'm not transmitting at the time or anything, just listening.

I'm fairly sure it's the plug and play setup, as if I disconnect it from the radio (unplug the RCA jack) and just turn the radio on by pressing the button on the front, the radio will turn on and stay on without issue. A rather frustrating issue to have.

Does this mean I have to leave my 6400 (and 8600 when I get it) on all the time for remote operation? Is there a better option for remotely turning the rig on than the flex solution?

It sounds like some setting in the App for the switch has a 30 minute timer on it that is turning off and therefore turning off the radio.

Check all the settings in the Tuya application and see if you have a timer set.

    Mike,

I appreciate the response. No setting of a timer I'm aware of. And it does it basically right after the radio boots up and I'm able to connect. Stays connected for about a minute then shuts down. It started doing that within the last week or so.

Would I be fine to just leave the rig on? I remember in a video you posted something about cycling power every 48 hours is necessary with the 6000 series rigs

I would like to know the answer to this also. My 6500 shut down after 48 hours operating remotely. Maybe it's just a coincidence. I don't have a relay to enable remote power up/down. I just leave the radio turned on since I'm usually not gone for more than 3 or 4 days.
