Have you tried using SliceMaster?
Configures and launches multiple third party applications automatically
- CW Skimmer, GRITTY, DM780, WSJT-X, flDigi, JTDX, JS8Call, MSHV, MMTTY

The issue with MSHV right now with slice master is that it does NOT work with more than one instance of MSHV being run and reporting to gridtracker. if you have more than one, GT shows NOTHING in the window. WSJTX works just fine with 4 instances running at once tho with GT0

apparently in newer versions of MSHV you can do this:
1. make directories for each slice
2. set up shortcuts for each instance
3. edit the shortcut, and add the --inst-name=SliceX option, where X is the slice name (A, B, etc)
4. start MSHV, and configure the settings to the tcp cat port (127.0.0.1, port 60000 for example)
This of course takes SliceMaster out of the equation. its just not flexible enough, nor updated enough, to do it there. its a shame its not open source.
Added: Command line option, (--inst-name=) for supporting multi-instance operations, with message aggregators software programs.0 -
"D:\Ham\MSHV\Slice-B_60001\MSHV_WIN64.exe" --inst-name=SliceB
for an 8600 flex radio, i made 4 copies:
Slice-A_60000
Slice-B_60001
Slice-C_60002
Slice-D_60003
then shortcuts to each mshv exe on my desktop, one per directory. Go to Properties for each shortcut and adjust the target, adding the new switch
start each instance, update the port per slice in SmartSDR CAT. and be done.
Note that you will have to update each directory when new versions come out. be careful to NOT update the settings directory or you will overwrite your settings.
To update, download the ZIP, not the installer, and extract out all the files and folders EXCEPT settings. either that, or backup your settings, overwrite all, then restore settings
feel free to reach out with any questions

actually this might be problematic, as i dont see a way to directly talk to a flex radio. SliceMaster emulates HamRadio deluxe which MSHV supports, but i dont see a way to talk directly to SmartSDR. i asked in their groups.io channel0

Figured it out. for now at least, just use COM based CAT ports, choose SmartSDR under rig control, then pick the COM port for each slice. Just create the CAT ports before starting MSHV or it wont see them without a restart0
