SmartLink Outage ??

Hello All

Is there a SmartLink outage at the moment?

I'm not able to login with my Notebook into our Flex remote station!

There appears to be a World Wide Outage. Single Point of op failure or an issue with a common software change.

We understand the inconvenience caused by the ongoing service outage, now entering its second day. We sincerely apologize for the disruption to your services, and we want to provide you with an update on our efforts to resolve this situation.

Our dedicated team has been working around the clock to identify and rectify the underlying issue. While we had hoped to have services restored by now, the situation has proven to be more complex than initially anticipated. Rest assured that we are making every possible effort to expedite the resolution process.

Changes we made last night to the SmartLink authentication servers did have a brief positive affect, and some of you may have been able to access your radio, however, the core problem has returned.

We understand that your reliance on our services is critical, and we want to assure you that we are fully committed to getting your systems back up and running as soon as possible. We are continuously monitoring the situation and working diligently to minimize the impact on your operations.

We will provide regular updates to keep you informed of our progress. In the meantime, if you have any immediate concerns or require assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our support team at [support email/phone].

Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience this outage has caused and appreciate your patience as we work to restore normalcy.

  • I would not like to be negative nor a grupy old guy.

But that fact that users like us running remote Flexradios seem to be stuck with a SmartLink-infrastructure that on can rely on.

If Im not wrong this has been a topic from day one with SmartLink. So either the infrastructure is being built/available or we need to come up with alternatives.

I know that some folks use VPN-tunnels to get to their remote location. That Is a workable solution from my understanding. Though it has its limitations on flexibility and of course that one needs to fiddle around with setting up them services.

Would be interesting to hear what alternative suggestions you out there with your sharp brains have in mind.

I have been using SoftEther for a number of years and it allows me to run SSDR2.4.10 remote. I have a small server based on an old RPi-clone hooked up to my router/switch. As a bonus I can access my home network from remote, neat. By using my own server means I have not to rely on other services to work (like SmartLink). I my IP service is OK, then my radio is on-line. There are several other solutions available, but make sure the VPN supports L2 (layer 2 packets).

Why has there not been a Sept. 14th update on SmartLink outage status? I see one of Flex radio's greatest advantage over other SDR radios as being the SmartLink access. Noise in Bogota' Colombia makes it impossible to use HF from anywhere near my location. I depend completely on two of my remote stations. I would think in four days the problem could be addressed ! I know many users are completely "dead in the water".

@k3avr I think for the most part it has been resolved. If you are subscribed to the "Flex Insider". Flex sent a very important email out this morning.

  • I have upgraded to v3.5.9 and I'm still having issues trying to connect to the SmartLink Servers.
