Unable to log into Smartlink

Smartlink shows no radios available. It says I am logged in but when I go to account settings, callsign, first and last name are blank. I have signed out and signed in again and get the same result. I have also remotely rebooted the radio. Is Smartlink having issues this morning?

  • I'm having the exact same problem here. Have also done the same as above including rebooting the modem/router at the shack. Radio works just fine when I TeamView into the shack computer, just can't see it remotely.

Definitely a Smartlink problem as I can access the radio via the remotely located PC

I can't seem to recreate this here.

BTW, it is possible to have the radio working on a local network but fail on SmartLink. This can happen at times. Often, rebooting the radio resolves it.

If you can connect to the radio remotely, as you mentioned, you can use FRStack to remotely reboot the radio. Give that a try and see if that helps at all.

Let us know how you make out.

  • Hi Mike,

I just tried again (for the 3rd time) rebooting the radio. I followed that by logging out and logging back into smartlink. No change, it still doesn't see the radio remotely when launching SmartSDR or the Maestro or my ios device remotely.

Logging into my remote shack computer via TeamViewer and launching SmartSDR works just fine.

All was working fine last night, just not this morning. BTW: in my case last night I turned the radio off (rare for me to do this) when I was done and then back on this morning. That is when I started having the problem.

Again, rebooted radio several times, rebooted modem, logged in/out of Smartlink. Still no change as of now.

    Thanks,

Thanks Mike, I have rebooted the radio and router with any success. Smartink has been working without issues for several years. Why does my Account settings in Smartlink appear blank, no callsign, first or last name?

Rebooted radio via FRstack, no change. Also getting error using App for iphone. Either says unable to connect to Smartlink or error connecting to Smartlink

the second PC on the same local network looks like this and is noted in other notes above.

This PC was down for 30 days waiting on a new power supply but worked yesterday without issue.

it is 10 am PDST and no change here to remote Flex 6600

  • I am having exactly the same issue. I have two Flexradio 6400 radios at remote locations. Both have been rebooted and neither shows the radio "on" and so I can't connect to them. I'm running v 3.5.8.

The same SmartLink Problem here in Switzerland.

I'm still logged in with one of my PCs into my remote station and will keep my PC running over the night in order to not loose the peer-to-peer connection.

I have been working it and noted that the Static IP address which I normally use to port forward to the radio is shows a mask of only 255.255.255.248 and not 255.255.255.0 which is what I put in the advanced field.

if I turn off static and use DHCP it gives a mask of 255.255.255.0

Now I can go in and change port forwarding but have used this for years and think there was an upgrade some time back that did the same thing.

    hope it helps

    Good Morning

SmartLink is till not working - UTC 04:00 (Swiss Time 06:00).

I guess it is time to install ZeroTier VPN Service on a Raspberry Pi to be independent from the Flexradio SmartService, which was doen in the last 2 Years alsmost 3 times !!!

Whats happen with your AWS Cloud Service - its again a certificate issue?

Since yesterday Smartlink has been OFF, it seems that the problem is with the FlexRadio company that has plasticine servers

Do you see it normal that FlexRadio users who pay more than €3,000 for a FlexRadio do not have remote service since yesterday?

Many radio amateurs use flex as remotes and it is the only way to make radio they have.

If you had an additional option to your servers, such as the option that each user can host official flexradio software wherever they want to have their own server for remote use, this would not happen.

I don't like what I'm seeing with flex at all

After past problems with SmartLink, many users installed VPN software as a backup method to use their remote Flex radios. I would suggest that every user of SmartLink do the same thing. It does take more effort to setup. But, if you have to depend on remote access to use your Flex Radio, then it makes sense to have a backup method to continue to use your radio.

It's surprising to me that remote users don't consider the fact that SmartLink can go down and leave them unable to use their radios. And have a backup plan in place.

    Hello All

As I know, there are two VPN solutions for remote Flex which works.

    1. Softether running on a Raspberry Pi
    2. ZeroTier Service running on a Raspberry Pi

It would be great to have an easy setup guide for the installation of these VPN solutions.

I have been experiencing the same problem - SmartLink is unavailable. Local works fine. Remote down.

  • RE VPN's... why doesn't SmartLink support a direct connection to the remote?

I'm not a 'code' person, maybe I'm missing something, but I've used SmartSDR for many years and these outages are a nuisance.
