Upgrade to 3.5.8 went well

I just upgraded my 6400 from 3.4.24 to 3.5.8. The upgrade went perfectly. So far I have tested it using SliceMaster, CW Skimmer, VarAC, FRStack3, N3FJP's ACLog, Smart -SMeter, SDRMonitor, DDUtil and, of course... the TeensyMaestro.

Everything is acting exactly as it did before. Startup and shutdown are working properly. All profiles are working properly, although I did have to manually change my Mic profile the first time I went into DIGU mode to test VarAC. After that, it behaves normally (i.e. automatically chooses the correct Mic profile and sets DAX on).

Everything else seems to be good to go as well.

    Hello everyone,

    I updated my Flex 6400 to 3.5.8. So far everything works fine.
    Only the audio reception via remote is not OK. The audio transmission has a constant crackling, which is very unpleasant.
    I already had this cracking in the audio after the update from 3.4.21 to 3.4.24. I then went back to 3.4.21 and the audio was OK again. Now after the update to 3.5.8 the same ****. Unfortunately I could not reset the radio to 3.4.21. Now I loaded the old version 3.3.33 into the Flex 6400 again. Now the audio is OK again.
    Has anyone had the same experience? Request for Info

    @Stefan

    Audio crackling is related to the network communications and packet loss. We may have changed some of the packet sizing between the 2 versions.

    Personally, for me, it got better with v3.4.

    It is a trade off between lower latency and less packet loss. When we send larger audio packets, it can be more reliable but it takes longer.

    You may find trying a different network switch may resolve things.

    3.8.5 works fine on my Desktop computer, but on my laptop I get an unhandled exception whenever SmartCat closes. I know I need to open a support ticket for this.

    Hi Mike,

    many thanks for the quick response. I will try it with another switch and hope that the audio transmission will be fine.

    So far, the update has been smooth on two PCs.

    The Maestro and two other PCs will follow next week. A remote (Smartlink) test QSO went perfectly.

    That's all I've tested yet.
