Smartlink
I've been trying a few weeks to connect my Flexradio 6400 with Smartlink without luck.
Everything was working fine and then all of a sudden malfunction.
Reset router, radio, computer and so on but still not working.
When dubbleclick on SmartSDR icon I can see the radio for about five sec then it disapears. 30sec later the radio is visable again for five sec then the same again.
Any ideas?

Very silly suggestion: reboot the radio.

OK... serious suggestions:
1) ping the remote router continuously while the radio goes on and off from smartlink.
2) If the ping to the router doesn't fail and you have access to the remote network, ping the radio from the router, and check if the ping fails.
3) if the ping fails, ping any device in between the router and the radio (switches, hubs, Wifi) until you find the culprit.

Hi Jonas... have you opened up a Help Desk ticket? Your description of the symptoms implies that the radio is only appearing on the network for very short intervals. That could mean something wrong either in the network or with the radio itself (something not right in the ethernet jack...)
Also, just as another check... do you have SmartCAT or SmartDAX running? can either of them see the radio?
Do you have any other 3rd party software running that might be blocking the radio on the network?
Another thought... do you have another computer/laptop you can install SmartSDR onto and connect to the network?
What happens if you directly connect the radio to the computer (not through the network)?

Thanks for fast reply.
No help desk ticket opened.
"Your description of the symptoms implies that the radio is only appearing on the network for very short intervals." That is correct, CAT and DAX doing the same thing as SDR, disapearing along with SDR at same time.
"Do you have any other 3rd party software running that might be blocking the radio on the network?" No new programs installed.
"Another thought... do you have another computer/laptop you can install SmartSDR onto and connect to the network?" Radio work fine when connected at radio site on same network.
Only problem with SmartLink connection.

No problem to ping router or radio

So, it seems no issues at IP network layer. Next step is understanding if the issue is on the local network or on the remote network. Do you have credentials to connect to another remote radio?

or, further to what N5NHJ was suggesting, do you have another computer you could install SmartSDR onto, then test cx via SmartLink?
Or, can a friend install SmartSDR on their laptop/computer temporarily and attempt to connect to your radio?

Hi Jonas
Rather than struggle with it, you should open a support ticket. These guys are the best in the world for resolving SmartLink issues if you are not familiar with networking.
The first key step is to make sure you are getting a green 'light' on the SmartLink configuration. If you aren't sure what that is, review all the steps in Chapter 9 of the SmartSDR manual. I think you'll find that useful.
This video may help as well.
