changed router now i can not connect remotely

i was using an amplifi alien wireless router. it is connected directly to the wall jack from the ISP. i run cat6 cables to the flexradio running the latest version software. and i run a cat 6 to the laptop. it works locally and remotely. occasionally the router will lock up, probably from RF in the shack. i switched the router to a:

TP-Link ER605 V2 Omada Gigabit VPN Router

it works fine from the ham shack and seems to have eliminated the router locking up.

now i can not open the radio remotely from another location.

when i click on the SDR radio remotely it shows the correct radio and it is green. however it has a popup that say "can't connect to the radio, try again.

any suggestions, it is probably some setting in the router not letting me in.

    George,

Are you sure you have done the proper port forwarding setup in this router ?

    Harry

  • i did not have to do port forwarding with the amplifi alien router.

i did have to get the isp to give me a public IP.

so i have not tried port fowarding yet.

i have never set up a port forwarding.

    thanks,

Please walk through all the steps in Chapter 9 of the manual again and redo your SmartLink setup.

If that doesn't fix it, please open a support ticket.
