There is another way to connect the ACOM SS PA series (600, 700, 1200) which have a single CAT port. Using the SDC software (freeware) you can band control the PA through a serial port connected to PC. The software uses Flexradio API and TCI so, like in my case, I can control the PA without plugging and unplugging the serial on the back when I switch from Flex to Sun and viceversa.
  • Good afternoon all. Taking from the previus messages I would like to as for advise.

I use my 6400 with the Acom 600S just fine, with a custom cable, but now I´ve incorporated a TGXL to the set up and obviously will need to make the connections to do so. Anyone using Flex and Acom also uses the TGXL that can give me some directions?

    Thanks

This takes 2 cables and a null modem adapter to make this work? Seems the auto sensing in the amp is simpler and cheaper. What’s the advantage of using the 2 cables and adapter?

    Thanks

  • In my case, I had my friend Dan (KC5PCB) made me a custom cable that makes the Flex 6400, the TGXL and the Acom 600S talk to each other, and it's working great. Afterwards, I bought the Acom EBox to control the amp remotely (thru network) and it's also working flawlessly.

I can fully operate remotely the Flex/Genius and the Acom amp.
