PGXL changed IPs on router reboot

Hello All,

Occasionally after a router reboot my PGXL ends up with the IP address 169.254.105.12. I have always had my radios, shack computer and a few other things on static IPs 192.168.1.****

All other devices retain their static IPs, just the PGXL sometimes reverts to the above IP and I no longer have access.

Wondering why this might only be happening to the PGXL and if possibly a future version of the utility might have a way to force the amp to query the router for an IP.

I know power cycling the amp will make it grab the static IP again, but I currently don't have it connected to a remote reboot device and I mainly operate remote.

Thanks, Peter - WB6POT

If it gets a 169 address, that means that the PGXL did not get an IP address from the DHCP server in your router. By chance, is it a 1G router/switch? If so, I have seen this before.

It should work, but for some reason, the NIC card in the PGXL does not always play nice with some switches. You may want to hard code an IP address on your PGXL outside of the DHCP range of your Router.

If you require help with that, please open a support ticket.

Thanks for the info Mike. The router I am using is an ASUS RT-AX3000. I didn't think it was a 1G router, but I could be wrong.

I'll try your suggestion the next time I'm at the shack site.
