Firmware Networking Changes?

Has there been any networking changes with SmartSDR in recent versions that would break access over a VPN?

As discussed in https://community.flexradio.com/discussion/8024282/port-forwarding-issues-remote-connection#latest I have a setup that tunnels the radio connections out over a VPN to a cloud server to get around the CG-NAT problem. Since a few months ago this has stopped working although nothing has changed with my setup

    No.

SmartSDR does nothing that impacts any VPN.

If your VPN solution now blocks UDP broadcasts from going out on the 'net' then your client software will not be able to find the radio to connect to it.

It is a common practice to not let broadcast data to tunnel through a VPN in order to ensure the VPN tunnel is not swamped with unnecessary traffic.

That is where I would start looking.
