Any further plans for a "Remote" version of the TGXL

When the TGXL was first being planned and designed there was talk of eventually having a version that could be placed at the antenna end of the coax. A TGXL-RT Version if you will. I think this would be a very well received piece of equipment and certainly one thats badly needed in the Ham Community. The only game in town , and that is nowhere near as beefy as the TGXL, is the MFJ998-RT.

    Hi Larry

The TGXL is a 4O3A product and FlexRadio is the US distributor. At some point, they made a business decision to have it produced the way you see it based on customer discussions.

You may want to check with 4O3A to see what their future plans are.

The trouble with 998RT is incomplete remote control. I have 998 in the shack and access to controls helps although it mostly tunes on its own. It has been reliable in contesting even when running (80m doublet fed by ladderline and used on 160 and 40) except for burning SWR diodes.

It seems that putting TG XL in a box outside with connection via Ethernet would not be that difficult. Ethernet would enable full control.
