SmartSDR 2.7.6 crashes with “Unhandled Error (Non UI Thread)

I have recently experienced crashes of 2.7.6 with “unhandled error non-UI thread”. Something to do with SafeHandle. Crashes happen anywhere from immediately upon start to an hour after. I have run all Updates for Win 10, ran "SFC Scan now” and re-installed SmartSDR. Other than Windows Defender updates, I have seen nothing install. No new software has been installed on the machine.

Any Ideas? Other than use a sledge hammer on the Windoze machine.

Flex 6300 with SmartSDR 2.7.6 which was installed shortly after its release. Has work flawlessly until about 3 weeks ago. I have had the normal CAT problem where it will hang and has to be manually killed and “repaired”, but that has been the case for months.

I have narrowed this problem down to SmartCAT. I am not sure what the root cause is yet but if CAT hiccups, then SmartSDR pretty much looses its mind. Seems 2.7.6 cannot handle an unexpected CAT situation and aborts rather than retrying or giving you options or intelligent error message. Solution is to close all programs and restart. CAT usually has to be cancelled using Task Manager to make sure it is removed completely. Thinking of moving to the OSX version rather than upating to the Windows V3 version. About had it with Win 10. Any comments on the Apple version. I use the IOS version and like it.

    Jay, can you try 2.8?

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
