RS232 vs. Ethernet

I did this presentation for BayCon 2022 Virtual event just recently on why we need to start looking at Ethernet to replace RS232.

I have queued up the YouTube video to start at the beginning of my presentation.

    Nice presentation Mike.

My first foray into ethernet programming was my TeensyMaestro a year and a half ago. Having never coded even one line of ethernet code, I was able to get my project working very quickly. I have done a fair amount of RS-232 programming, and even now, it takes a ridiculous amount of time and energy to get serial communications working properly.

The day will come (soon, I hope) where we all laugh at how we had to do things before ethernet connectivity was a thing...
