Connecting the Yaesu MD-1 Desk Mic to Maestro

I would like to use my MD-1 desk mic with the Maestro. The mic has an 8-pin connector at each end. Is it possible to use the MD-1 and how do I adapt it to the Maestro?

You can find these on eBay. Look for one that works with Yaesu.

The Maestro RJ45 is wired for Yaesu Microphones, and that works ok as long as the Mic does not require power to operate, which is normally provided by radio.

Many have been able to get their MD-1 to work with our radios and it might be discussed here in the community. If you haven't already, try searching to see what others have done.

I have searched the forum and haven't found anything to specifically help me mate the MD-1 to the Maestro. I would like to know the best way in which to adapt the 8-pin mic to RJ45 connector on the Maestro and whether or not power is required for the MD-1.
