Voice and Data operation

Is there a way to stay in USB but send data using FLDigi for example without switching back and forth between USB and DIGIU?

Optimum would be if the radio would see that the key line was coming from the digital program and make the appropriate switch.

Can it work this way and I have missed something?

    Yes,

You could spin up a 2nd slice on the same frequency and in the mode you wish.

I did think of that Mike but wasn't sure it would work. I will try it now. What i have managed to make work is macros in FLDigi to toggle modes which is manageable when remote in a hotel. In a truck not so much. The two slice solution should be better.

    Thanks

Using the two slice solution set up slice A for voice and B for digital.

in CAT create a PTT and CAT port for slice B and use those in the digital program. Also make sure to select proper DAX RX channel in slice B.
