Loose connection to PGXL

I have a 6700 and a new PGXL (about 1 wk).
When I shut down (pwr down) everything for the day the PGXL stays on.
Sometimes when I boot up the 6700 it doesn't see the PGXL, there is no power bar in the SSDR window. I have tried everything I can think of to get it back but the only thing that works is to cycle power on the PGXL.
This has also been a problem during a recent power outage.
The PGXL pwr switch is not convenient to cycle pwr.
I am thinking I should power down the PGXL along with everything else, and pwr up fresh every time.
Any solution to this problem would be greatly appreciated.

We are always looking to improve things.

You may want to try setting your PGXL with a Static IP address and see if that works for you in your situation. That way, the PGXL should do a correct broadcast on your network when it comes back online and then the radio will hear the broadcast and from that determine the IP address of the amplifier.

@Dan Moore how are the radio and PGXL connected to your network? Specifically, are the radio and PGXL connected to your router using wired Ethernet connections or is there a wireless "link" in the path between the radio and the router?

Both my radio and PGXL are connected through a ethernet switch.

I have had issues also much like you are having. I also am wired direct to my router with both the radio and amp. What I have found is when I unhook my station for summer storms is to keep the amp off and bring up the radio. Then toggle on the amp and it seems to work. But I agree the power switch is not user friendly on the back of the amp but at least I can get behind my desk easy.

I was getting same thing even after taking some RFI precautions and I can confirm at least for me, changing to a static IP stopped the PGXL utility from loosing connection on 6m. I have yet to confirm all bands.

I did set the pgxl to a static ip and have not lost connectin since but network is really stable at this time waiting for another sudden outage to see what happens.

I also experienced this problem with my new PGXL and had to power cycle the amp before the PGXL utility would see it, not a good situation if you are remote when it happens. After reading this thread, I have set the PGXL to a static IP address. I'll let you know if this doesn't resolve the problem.

I had similar problems with my PGXL and they gone since I changed to Static IP.
