Leaving the radio on for hours or days at a time

I assume you are using an M model radio since you did not provide that information in your post.
You asked...
Does it hurt or burn the screen if I leave the radio on for days at a time ?
No
Will the monitor go into a sleep mode if left on for remote work ?
No.
What is the proper way to leave the radio available for remote operation ?
After booting an M model radio, the front panel will automatically load a version of SmartSDR and consume at a minimum 1 panadapter and 1 slice resource and up to 2 slices and two panadapters. If you have a 6400M and the front panel is using 2 slices and 2 panadapters, you will not have any left for the remote client to use. If you are not using SmartSDR v3 and the front panel is running SmartSDR, you will not be able to connect remotely since SmartSDR v2 does not support multiFlex.
To shut down the front panel and free up the slice and panadapter resources the the front panel is using, do the following.
1.) On the front panel, tap MENU at the top center of the screen
2.) From the RADIO submenu, tap SWITCH VERSION
This will shut down SmartSDR that is running on the front panel and take you to the Select a Version screen. Just leave the radio on this screen.

@kb2huk In this post, you asked a question where you wanted to get an answer, but the post was designated as a discussion topic. Please see the Message Board post Using New Q&A (Question & Answer) Feature for how to create a Question and Answer (Q&A) post. I went ahead and converted your post to a Q&A.

You can also from SmartSDR close or Disconnect the connection on the Maestro Head from there, so if you run the radio remote and the Power to the Radio bumps off and on then the radio will come back up with the Slice up on the Maestro head and use a slice.
Hope this helps
Disregard my FLEX-6700 it will still show the YELLOW Disconnect BOX
