SmartLink error

Member

I thought I’d post this image showing my Smart Link login page looks great except it’s not my login or call, in fact none of the details shown are mine.

A little background on this, we run a 6500 with the latest software installed at our local club where members can login and use the 6500, rotator and various aerials. Due to very strong winds here I decided to lower our tower and aerials for safety, unbeknown to me a club member who did not know the station was off air tried to login and the details shown are what he was faced with after entering the correct credentials. He called me to ask about this and of course I did not believe him until I tried to login again with the correct credentials. The station will not be back on air until Tuesday as it’s remote and I need to get on site. Our call is G3NFC and is located in the UK why are we seeing IK2LFF from Italy? looks like he has a very nice station.

I feel a HelpDesk ticked my be needed tomorrow.

i would log in , change password and set name back to what it should be.
We have the same with our members who change the name every now and then. Unfortunately..as stated in other posts, smartlink is FAR FAR away from beeing really usable for multi user .. We wait since a year for a pre sales promised user management system for smartlink, where you have admins and plain restrictable users. Up to now , whoever knows the credentials can do EVERYHING ..even lock YOU OUT .

    Hi

Any user can change the name on the display once they log in.  I have the same problem with a machine that I let customers try and I have to go change it back.

They can't lock you out unless then have a physical PTT access to a physical CW key or a PTT switch that is physically attached.  So, for a club station, if you have a web switch dedicated to a remote PTT I would recommend you leave that to those with full Admin writes.

I hope that helps explain it a bit.

    Mike
