This is a new problem that just started on only on of my laptops. I'm running a 6600 with a lenovo laptop with Win 10. This was working fine until recently. The only change was I used this same laptop to connect to a friends 6600.
When i returned home and tried to connect to my radio i get an error (attached) that says "Not configured for smartlink Hardware key radio now... (9) None of the buttons seem to work..
I believe this is happening when SDR Com try to start.
I'm running SDR Ver 2.4.9. It is a local connection on the same internal LAN. Another desktop and another laptop works fine. Any ideas?

    Hi Ken

It sounds like the Windows Firewall is preventing you from connecting.  At least, that is the first thing I would check and make sure it is turned off for local networks.  https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/4028544/windows-10-turn-windows-defender-firewall-on-or-off

As well, you don't need SmartLink to connect to your radio if you are at the same house with your radio.  So, you can back up 1 screen.

What does it show on the screen before this one?  If you hover your mouse of the radio but after you check the firewall settings.

My guess is that you do not have an IP address assigned by your DHCP server. Check that the IP address assigned to the laptop is, in fact, on the same subnet as the radio.

It may be that the laptop was assigned an IP address in a different subnet by your friend's DHCP server and you do not have an updated IP address now that you are back on your home network.

Seems it is a windows firewall issue on the laptop.. The Flex radio programs are listed as exceptions and it is assigned the proper network. need to look for a way to delete the entries and try to re add them.

OK it was a local FW issue.. I restored FW defaults then added the Flex program back in. Its working again...
    Thanks for the ideas/help.

I'm glad you sorted it out. I wonder why it changed?

I don't know. I'm trying to go through some logs to see if anything pops but I don't see anything obvious. When I went to my friends I did load a different Flex version (3.1.8). that might have made the changes. I did uninstall it but maybe it left the 3.1.8 program through the FW and when I started ver 2.4.9 the FW did not recognize it. When I restored FW defaults then re-started 2.4.9 it asked me to add it to the FW again

If It asked you to upgrade or downgrade the software then you may have started the wrong version of smartsdr as you can keep multiple different versions on your computer. Make sure you start 3.1.8
