FT8 and FT4 and the system crashed

Hi, I state that I use very little FT8 and FT4 and I do it with my 6400 with WSJT-X latest version.
As I said, I use it little but used it about a month ago and again yesterday and the system crashed. The 6400 had transmissions on its own and the CAT didn't work anymore. I had to reset the 6400 and delete the SmartSDR v3.0.27 to install it again. Does it happen to you too? Do you use a different soft on WSJT-X?
Any advice is welcome.

Did Windows perform any update? Which version of Windows? 7, 8, or 10?

Latest Windows 10 (U.S. version) and WSJT-X 2.10 has been stable with SmartSDR 2.5.1 and 3.0.27 except when Windows does a system update.

The same problem has not already been tried about a month ago when I tried FT8. Not so if I'm wrong about something, I seem to have followed the instructions which are quite simple.

Check this post for setup instructions for FT8. Only thing I would do different than Ria's instructions is set WSJT-X to use Data/PKT mode.

Another thing to check is see if you have ghosted comm ports in Windows.

Thanks Dave,
I tried this configuration and it seems to work. We must see if it does not deteriorate the system because even the first one (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxageEY7-Pw) worked but then it blocked my system.
For now there is nothing that interests me but as soon as there is something tantalizing I will test it longer.

I also do not have much in operating FT8 regularly, but I did get it working out of curiosity. I have two instances of WSJT-X running simultaneously, one for each slice on my 6400, each slice on different bands. Using Win7, I have run this configuration for several hours without issues.
