How to Update SmartSDR "In Version Update"

Hi All
I did this video for our users who want an overview on how we download and update SmartSDR 'In Version'. This is the process you use for update from V2.4 to V2.5 as an example. It is NOT limited to just those versions.
You can also do the same process to downgrade, say 2.5 down to 2.4 if you like.
As always, it is a good idea to power cycle your radio after you have completed the update.

Two questions:
Prior to any update I usually export all profiles and radio settings to a thumb drive. After updating, I import these back to the radio. Is this still advisable, or is it safe to assume that all settings / profiles will be carried over?
When a new feature is added, will this automatically be added into a previously saved profile, or must I access the profile and resave it under the updated version?

Hi
Never a bad idea.
But not required.
BUT!
If you move to V3 and then want to go back to V2, then, yes, you will need to restore your profiles that you saved in V2.
Global profiles must always be manually saved. TX and Mic profiles are dynamic and saved automatically.

Backing up is a great idea and we recommend this. Especially before doing an upgrade. Importing immediately after the upgrade performs the same steps that the upgrade itself does, so this is unnecessary (but not harmful).0
