No ability to not auto save profiles and worse now when you load a profile with mic gain set at say 37 when you bump the dial and the mic gain changes now even that is auto saved. I will pass till profiles either are like 2.49 or there is a switch or ability to turn off auto saving. This was discussed and more than just I was hoping flex listened as was promised but some things never change.

I agree why all the discussion here for weeks sort of dangling a carrot in our face I don't get it how hard is (would) it be to just toggle it on/off. It appeared to me there were enough people who wanted the ability to switch it on/off to include it.

Gang, I hope you take a moment to read the comments from Eric W, the VP of Software Development. According to him,  They are working on the best implementation method. I can say as an alpha tester for many years, that  Its more complex than you think with lots of inter-dependencies.  >>> They hear you.<<<  They know a group of us desires a toggle on/off for this.    Additionally, Eric posted a method in the interim to get to your base settings.

Just as info, In order to implement the auto save code had to be added to every area that was identified to be auto saved, from the looks of it that was a huge change to the previous way profiles functioned. Then firmware and the ssdr pc app was changed to support it. They never thought to ask before doing this because they were most likely targeting contestors and help desk tkts from users who had no desire to read and understand how profiles worked and how to use them properly. So in order to add a toggle on/off type flag now requires changing and adding code to everyplace they modified to support and do auto save. This is a huge time consuming task I program as a hobby but have developed much software for a lot of different rigs I have and keep it local to my shack. I have even automated the flex agc-t adjustment based on many observations and ir works well although it is fully automated I did not graph it I just came up with an algorithm which I like. Even still I know whats involved I was hoping that the toggle would be in this latest update for version 2 with all the final bug fixes, now my concern is flex is going to add the toggle only in version 3 software to generate more revenue from users who have to have the toggle. Should this be their path forward I will remain on version 2.49 as I am now and most likely the 6400M will eventually be kept as a piece of test equipment or placed in storage as a lesson learned since I will not sell it for a loss it still has uses as spectrum analyzer etc. The flex experience was alright but just reenforces the fact that radio rigs should not be dependent on external computers or internal ones not in hard coded firmware that are dependent on the weakest link sd card for operation. Its not acceptable for me to turn on the rig and have to wait a minute and a half before I can use it and then only if it boots up correctly the first time. I have since went back to Icom with the 9700 and 7300 side by side because they work when you push the power button and are ready to go in less than 8 to 10 seconds and dont need to be restarted during a qso due to glitches. Inwould still like to see the toggle for profiles but my flex sits idle most of the time collecting dust till I decide to take it down and put it with the rest of my test equipment. I hope your use and experience exceeds my results I was expecting when I purchased my 6400M it was a learning experience which is what you get when you didnt get what you thought you wanted, and Im not crazy which is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Its like its the same cycle all the time fix this update that reset this now that dont work got that fixed nowbthis is broke. I want to enjoy the hobby not constantly have to be an it expert or have to fix the rig or hope it wprks when I want to be on the air. Thanks for all you do and did flex but I have proved since March of 2018 that this Dog Dont Hunt. Good luck to all the flexors out there I rack up the qso's while your trying to get your rigs operating. Signing out from the community, Bobby.
