V3 Doesn't like Maestro
Options
I had great hopes for V3 and my Maestro. They fixed the bug that caused the Maestro to occasionally lock up the radio, local or remote, when using CW for an extended period. That was great news!
However, The Maestro keeps going to some default profile when connecting to a radio, necessitating resetting of all parameters. I worked with the Help Desk and got the local profile working after resetting the radio, but can't reset the remote radio for a while until I can physically get there.
SmartSDR has had none of these profile issues.
More importantly, the CW keying from the Maestro is awful. It drops elements and introduces long pauses. The sidetone sounds fine, but when you listen on another radio it's a mess. After complaints from other hams trying to copy the CW, I finally listened with the other radio and the problem was obvious. In order to operate CW I have had to use a Remote Rig setup.
I thought I would study the documentation from version 3 and the profiles, but it doesn't exist.
Any suggestions?

I didn't start a help ticket on the poor CW. I figured one issue at a time would be best. Right?
In any event, I am wondering if it is just my Maestro or if these problems are common.
If common problems, I will expect that future updates will fix them. If just me, especially the CW issue, then I'd like to know that and won't bother the community.

You are not bothering this member of the Community. In complete contrast, it's extremely helpful to be able to keep up with these things. It helps me to know what to look out for & how to address the issue if I have a similar occurrence.0

I tried this with 6500 (V3) direct wired to Maestro and CW is fine when listened on a second receiver. With WiFi link not so much as the WiFi link was dropping packets.
Read an earlier post about setting MTU size:
https://community.flexradio.com/flexradio/topics/v3-no-waterfall-when-using-smartlink?topic-reply-list
I had Smartlink running at a remote location, that previously was causing 10% drop. With the above adjustments packet drop was zero. Eric and Michael had some outstanding information. Something seems to have changed. Obviously is network link is bad CW will be also.
Hope this helps....
Tim
