low SSB transmit power using flex microphone

I seem to be missing a step setting up the supplied flex microphone with my new 6600m. In tune mode, radio transmits the correct watts dialed in. Mic gain does make a slight improvement but hard to generate any watts above single digits. Have radio bias & +20db enabled using default fhm-2 mic.
I did have a Yaesu radio connected to the external tuner & amp before the flex so I am familiar with that part of the equation. i would appreciate any advice...thank you

Hi Tom
I would consider opening a support ticket when you have a moment.
2 common problems ...
I have had more than one customer with the Mic plugged into the speaker jack (not kidding )
Make sure you have MIC selected on the TX MENU (push the MIC/Speed - Power Knob in)
Just want to make sure.

Use one of the microphone profiles, not the default profile. I had this same problem when I tried to use my Shure 55.0

I will open a support ticket. I can't say that i haven't made a few mistakes like that over the years..lol..everything else seems to work very well, automatic band switching on amp, etc.0

thanks Gene..doesn't seem to make much difference..when i use the monitor mode, it has to be adjusted up past 75% to hear my voice but does blast in at 100%0

Unplug the mic from the jack and plug it back in to the mic jack sometimes the plug does not seat properly in the mic jack and has caused several users difficulty.0
-
You can watch the mic audio on the meter without the need to transmit.0

Also since it is a 6600m make sure you dont have the bal mic selected if your using the mic with the trs plug.0
-
Make sure you also have dexp off.0
-
thanks Bobby..i'll give a try0
