Flex 6300 and Ipad Microphone

I have a flex 6300 using the Ipad Pro and wanted to know if there is an adjustment to cut down background noise through the microphone?

Hi David

You have a few options.  One is to really reduce the Mic gain and make sure you keep an eye on the Mic Level meter.  Make sure you don't over drive it. 

The other is to use a proper noise cancelling mic/headset.

Does that come with the smaller mic end for the ipad? What are your settings with this microphone?

Yes, it plugs in directly.  Dave Bottom sends instructions.  What is key is watching your Mic Level and keeping it about 80% or so.  Do not watch the RF out meter as that is not the correct way to align a Mic.  It is different for each person as their voice levels are all different.

Found this one on Amazon for $22.00. Works great. Remember to turn off the 20db Microphone Boost setting or you will really overdrive the radio.

A little late to the party...How does a 3.5mm headset https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TTNNETI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 interface with an iPad. Is there an adapter available?

I am using this headset from Amazon on my iPad and iPhone. Friends tell me there is no background noise when using it in a vehicle. Tried several others wired and USB and this is the first one with good noise canceling reports.
