Maestro update complete. Select a radio to run (6600M)

I have a 6600m and not a Maestro. I just got this message after letting the radio sit without connecting after booting.  I have not applied any updates since I got the radio as Flex had it up to date when I got it.

I understand the terminology is a hold over from the Maestro but what is up with the random update?

    Hi Rich

I would recommend you run the latest update as it has many fixes.  If for any reason you don't like the update, you can easily roll back.

Did you do a firmware update / change on the radio?  If so this is the message that is shown after that happens.  If you update the radio forware with SmartSDR for Windows or Maestro, you still have to update the M model's console software to the same /upgraded version.  We have a feature request to update both from a different client (SSSDR-Win or Maestro) but for now, you have to do the update manually.

No, I did not.  I updated the first 6600 with the latest software/firmware and the replacement you sent came with the latest so I did not have to do anything.  I have started the M radio a dozen times straight with no update message and then started SSDR and M radio back and forth with no update messages.  This was out off the blue.

I still get pick a version when starting the M radio which I understand should not be happening..

You will always have multiple versions loaded on the M models radios just like the Maestro.  There are certain conditions where if the radio state has not changed from the last time you used it, it will auto start with the last version used.

Ok good info. It was my understanding It would eventually skip that which it has never done. Not the best setup for the bulk of users but no big deal. I can live with it.  See ya when you get back.

We do this so you can easily revert to an earlier version if needed.

would it have been just as easy to put a Revert button at the bottom along with the Info, Connect and other buttons?    The "Revert" could then take the user back to the screen that has the multiple firmware choices.
