6400 tuner

I have a 6400 (without the tuner) on order. If I want to add the internal tuner - say 6 months after delivery, can I just order it and install it myself?

Will self installing the tuner affect/change the 6400 warranty in any way?

    Not at all.

There is this 'phobia out there that if you open the box on your radio, the warranty is null in void. In 99% of the cases in the amateur world this is not true. Now, if you do open things up, and somehow physically destroy it due to inexperience, that can be a different story.

Mike is it the same as if the equipment has a "warranty void" sticker on the case like the PGXL and TGXL?

    Thanks

    Hi Bret

If it has those stickers, then, you do need to heed them. The hardware I get is usually the engineering hand me downs. :). There are no stickers.

I thought so, these are the 1% that you can't open with out express permission.

    Thank for clarifying this.
