KT9D jabr Headset works super with my Flex 6500 and got many great audio reports. it's Plug & Play , must be used in VOX  but it's works great. I have a profile with Heil 781 and now a new profile with the JABR headset.

I assume the wireless transmitter is plugged into the back of your Flex 6500?  Can you manually operate it via manually PTT (MOX)?  A photo would be interesting.

it's powered by a wall wart. KT9D will make the cable for your Flex radio. I just tested the range and walk out side dam it was cold at 70 feet the audio broke up a little, it plugs in the 8 pin connector in the front of the radio and my Heil 781 plugs in the balanced connector in the back of the radio. But inside my home perfect at any range inside my home it's great. YOU must use VOX with this headset.

I'd guess if you're in front of the radio PTT or MOX would work fine!

    Hi James,

I also have used a Jabra but an older version and what I did to get around the PTT problem was used a cheap 300Mhz wireless Relay got off of the infamous auction site , worked great just connect to the PTT on the rear of the flex or the mic connector, Just need the RX powered up and the remote is battery powered and very small.

Also used a similar setup in the car with a ic7000 and enabled easy mobile operation.

Just an idea anyway, Vox is ok but on the road dangerous :)

The new Jabra looks a bit sleeker than mine,

    Cheers

I have the same Jabra headset that I've been using on an Icom.  Works quite well.  I wired it with 1/8" stereo jacks.  I can plug the receive into the speaker out of just about any radio.  I then plug the xmt into the mic input of a Heil adapter for any radio.  Works well and is easy to plug into just about any rig when wired this way.

Any idea what he is asking for these?
