Radio Setup; TX Tab is not persistence.

I have had this problem in the last three releases. The persistence in the Radio Setup Transmit Tab most of the time is not persistent. After each bootup/startup I have to enable RCA TX1. Most of the time there are random ones enabled. Sometimes they have all been enabled. Today when I started it, the ACC TX was the only one enabled. So I will enable RCA TX1 and next time I bootup/startup there will be something randomly enabled on the TX TAB.
I am running 8.1 Pro

Thanks,    Dan

Have you shutdown the radio completely powered off and powered on? I believe the persistence is saved on the radio not the software on the PC. You also need to do a factory reset. I had some odd persistence issues and power cycling the radio resolved them.

I shut the rig down every night, then power down the 12 volt supply. I purchased this 6500 in December of 2013, I have never reset the rig, only upgraded the radio with each new release of SSDR.

Just for grins and chuckles, just power down the radio, shut off power, wait 30 seconds and power everything back up and see if that alone works. If it didn't then do a factory reset. Factory resets should never be required. If it is, definitely required, we should know .

If you are running DDUtil, then check "Manual TX" under the AutoDrive tab.

DDUtil got me on that one too.  I was trying to figure out why the amp wouldn't key.  Fortunately, Dudley sent me in the right direction.

Dan - There is a known issue related to TX Relay persistence that is in our bug tracker. I am certain that we'll get this addressed in due time.  Thank you for your patience.

Dan - I had one of the engineers check the persistence code and there doesn't look like anything wrong in the logic.  I personally did testing by setting different TX Relay settings (on/off states and delay times) and ran the radio through it's paces.  I even did several power cycles of the radio too.  I did not have a single situation where the values I set changed or were not persisted.

At this this time we have flagged the previous TX relay persistence issue that was in the bug tracker as fixed/cannot duplicate.

I suspect that if you are having an issue that one of two things are happening.  Either an external process, like DDUtil is changing the state of the radio and you are unaware of it or that there is some corrupted data in your internal persistence database.  For the later, a reset to factory defaults (after you export your database) may clear up the issue.  If you do this, only import your global, TX, TNF, settings and transverter profile data and do not select preferences (the persistence data).

I have purchased a PGXL to use with my 6600, and am waiting for it to arrive. I am reading the PGXL documentation. It says I need to set a TX delay of 20. If I set the TX delay of 20 and then close the Radio Setup window, and change bands, the TX delay disappears and goes back to zero. Also, if I set the TX delay and close the window and then reopen it, about 50% of the time, the TX delay is back to zero. How to fix?

    I do not use DDUtil.

Hi Kent, the timings are tied to the TX Profile in use. If you are currently using Default, I recommend setting a new one. The problem is that Default is reset every time you do a software upgrade. If you can't get the timing settings to "stick" when using a new profile, then you should submit a help desk ticket.
