Question: FM mode - no TX

It was very late last night when I finally got a chance to install v1.4 so I didn't have much time to tinker around with FM but attempted a quick test of that mode.

Since the upper bands were closed and there aren't any local repeaters, I was trying to copy (simplex) with a 3-band HT. I copied the carrier, but absolutely no voice info, nor could I see a reaction to my voice in the transmit envelope on SSDR (shouldn't I see the envelope spread?). However, I copied when switched to another mode e.g., USB.

Is there a setting I missed for FM that blocked my Tx audio?

As you write about a 3-band HT I deduce that you have a 6700 and transmitted on 2 meters. Have you tried NFM? I have a 6500 and NFM on 10 meters works well.

Tried NFM, as well. I've also got a 6500 trying to transmit on 10m. The HT is my son's Kenwood F6A that he insists has FM on 10m. It seemed to me to be working because I heard the carrier - just no audio. We switched to USB (everything else the same), and it copied fine.

Alex, do you see a reaction in the envelope when you speak?

Try cold boating the radio and resetting the radio to factory defaults.

I was able to run 146.34/94 NFM Remote with my 6700 Last night
    with no problems....
Sure is easy to program the Repeater options required and Freq offset
with the Flex.   I never could remember how to program my Icom without
    the book....
    Thanks Flex

Yeah, I did see and hear a normal FM signal on my IC-756PRO scope.

    Tim,

FM is working, now. I really didn't have to do anything to fix it. I turned on the radio and decided to test it before doing a factory reset, and it just worked. That's good enough for me, issue resolved. Thanks.
