Antenna Switch Erratic

Using 6700 with Windows 7 and latest SmartSDR 1.2.1. I have ANT 1 assigned to both T and R on 20 meters and things are working just fine. Then as I am opening other pans I note that ANT 1 while still showing connected for receive must be defective because I no longer can receive a signal using it on any pan. I switch to ANT 2 (1 is a beam, 2 is a dipole) and receive is OK. I switch to Rec 1 (loop) and receive is OK. But ANT 1 continues to fail. I check all my cables and find nothing wrong. When I close and then restart Ant 1 works properly. I've not yet been able to determine a pattern. This only started with the latest version of SmartSDR.

I have had the same thing occur on my 6500.   I cannot re-create the problem.  I can correct it by changing bands on another pan-adapter slice.   About the time I forget about the problem, it happens again. I only use ANT 1.  This happened with the prior version.  I don't remember it happening since the update.

I am having similar issues Jim. Next time ANT 1 gets in this state, try opening a new pan on the same band that suddenly went 'deaf' and see if both pans suddenly starts receiving okay.  That is what I have observed and I agree there's a gremlin lurking in this part of SSDR we need to flush out.

See my unanswered query 3 days back https://community.flexradio.com/flexradio/topics/antenna_matrix_and_band_confusions_with_v1_2_1 where the antenna switching happens while dragging a slice up the band.  The Antenna Switch changes with the receive frequency.  May be the same or related gremlin.

Unlike your description 3 days back where the display changes to another antenna, in my experience the indication of antenna does not change in the display, there simply is no signal being received even though the display still shows Ant 1.
