Do you intend to make incoming signal recording and re transmission available on SmartSDR, along the lines of that function currently on PowerSDR?

The short answer is "yes". It is slated for PowerSDR v1.3 as per the SmartSDR development road map1

Tim, one question - i guess is very serial, for contests are necessary to record not only reception but also transmission, it can be a part of the recorder functionality ?0

The ability to record "voice keyer" will be crucial to making this a power contesting machine. The recording and playback should sound EXACTLY the same as the live voice over the mike, and be processed exactly the same way, with filter, EQ, and Compression, even if those things change from band to band. It should sound exactly like the live mike would under the same conditions.0

I can not comment on the details of any upcoming feature until it is in alpha testing. Sorry. That is company policy as things may change in development process.0

Wouldn't it be better to record contest messages with external software such as Audacity? When DAX is available I think it is supposed to look like a soundcard to external apps, so you can record you messages directly. This way they should be in WAV format and easily used for apps such as N1MM. If the 6700 "recorder" saves files as WAV files and they're easily accessible that should be fine. 73 Greg0

You are right Greg, if this will be not prohibited into the SW, BTW i wonna to use it right now in 1.0.5 but you know you can choose only one input for audio for now.0

I know. I tried to use the line input along with MIC input for SS and could not do it. If that is not fixed soon I think I will probably have to make other considerations for my contest station. 73 Greg0

Well Greg, sure, this is also put me on hold for participation in long term contests, even N1MM have ability to do this with external HW0

The PowerSDR "record/playback" feature is very useful for digital modes. I use it every day. It is a good "teaching" tool.. nothing better than having a station listen to his "own audio.." This is one but of many reasons why I still use the 5k for digital modes and will continue to do so until the 6k software adds much needed features.0
