All household appliances require a safety ground or are you talking about RF ground - Not in the electrical code but an excellent thing to do.1 -

I don't have a PG-XL, but the safety ground must be part of the power plug and the RF ground is an external chassis bolt/connection.1 -

The flashing red when the rig is off and you shut down your supply is the beginning of the low voltage flash sequence as the capacitors discharge. This is normal.2 -

Tried the same from the Maestro. MENU-MEMORY will switch from simplex to repeater up .6 correctly but again the display remains showing "SIMP" for both simplex and up 6001 -
