Flex 8600 Just Quits During FLDIGI Transmit

Options

Having a recurring problem with FLDIGI. In the middle of an FLDIGI transmission, the FLEX 8600 just stops transmitting, produces some sort of error code, and prevents further transmission (voice or digital), until the radio is completely powered down and back up. The radio seems very confused. Why?

Flex 8600, FLDIGI 4.2.07, 100W, PGXL in stand-by, TGXL and ANT Genius in-line

It might help us to know the error code. Meanwhile, on TX of a constant carrier digital mode, the PSU voltage isn't by chance being dragged down too much?

Yes, I will try to replicate and note the error code. PSU voltage?

PSU voltage: if low when in TX, could cause error. But only a possibility, actual code if you can capture may give clue.

Here's a possible clue. This occurs after sending a series of FLDIGI messages (maybe 5-minutes worth), then some voice, then repeating the messages. It's during the repeat that this anomaly occurs. Overheating the PS? Really doubtful since the PowerWrex PS is rated at 30A and I;m pulling half that in an FLDIGI transmission.

Open a Help Desk ticket and ask Flex for assistance., I would say, because I think it needs more investigation than can be gained via the Forum.

    David,

Make sure you don't have any unrelated USB Com ports or HTML audios device going to sleep and rearranging the window port enumerations, which can cause FLDIGI to lose port connectivity..
