AetherSDR has completely **** my audio from SmartSDR for Mac.
Foolishly, I installed AetherSDR to give the tyres a kick. Big mistake. When I later launched SmartSDR for Mac, I had no Mic audio from the Mac to the radio.
Looking at the input choices I had several AetherSDR DAX sources.
After some research, I found suggestions on how to remove the DAX sources and AetherSDR itself. Also a suggestion to reset the Radio ID in SmartSDR for Mac. NO dice. The sources have gone, but I still have no mic.
I'm about to reinstall SmartSDR for Mac, but I wanted to warn others to be very careful with AetherSDR.

Trying something new isn't foolish, I think. I have both ASDR, SmartSDR for Mac, and a few others on both my M1 Mac and Intel Mac. No problems. ASDR I would imagine changed something, which is not necessarily bad.
Apple does not include any uninstaller … which is not good. I use AppCleaner when removing apps, it does a good job of finding related files, just an FYI. Much better than simply moving an app to the trash.
If you click on the speaker icon at the top right to open the sound settings, and look at input you can see what inputs are available and what is selected. I think Marcus' program simply uses whichever one is selected, as opposed to having a selection from within the program. You can also see a level slider (put it to max) and a graph.
If you have the right input selected, and get motion on the input level, SmartSDR should be working with that input. Does your desired mic show up and is working in the sound settings pane of OSX?

There is no issue with AetherSDR. I can switch between SSDR in Windows, ASDR in MAC and ASDR in Linux without any trouble at all.
The clearly important consideration is to have saved and backed up settings and Profiles for all the different Clients that you are going to use. This will also be necessary when we start testing FlexiSDR coming soon.

Thanks for the comments. I use Hazel to monitor preferences etc and delete the files when the app is trashed.
Personally, I think it is a mistake on AetherSDR's developers part not include an uninstaller for the driver pkg included on the dmg. You need to install drivers - therefore you should be able to uninstall.
Some more info:
- In SmartSDR audio settings (the * next to the volume slider) Input is set to my condenser mic.
- In Radio Controls/Mic, Mac is selected as the audio source and I've tried varying the Mic level.
- The Condenser mic works fine on other programs.
- I've uninstalled SmartSDR and re-installed. No change. There's nothing showing on the Level meter. Previously, it would be bouncing up and down due to background audio in the shack.
Regardless of whether or not others have experienced my problem, saying "it's alright here" is not very helpful. Obviously it works for some people, otherwise it wouldn't have been released in the first place (I would hope).
Unfortunately, I didn't realize the problem existed immediately. Otherwise I could have simply rolled back using Time Machine. As it stands, I don't know where the problem lies.
In an act of desperation, I'm going to re-install AetherSDR and its driver package.

Don't ask me why, but re-installing AetherSDR's audio driver package fixed the problem. Go figure…

well, now you can play with them both! Have fun.
