6600 odd behavior between ATU and Tune power output

Options

I'm chasing down an issue with random messages on my TGXL saying "Low RF Output".

Full config is a 6600/PGXL/TGXL/AG using a Win 11Pro PC; new shielded Ethernet cables. Running an Astron RS-35A supply (have a friend's 50A with meters, which may be my next experiment to diagnose).

6600 now with a dummy load on output/Ant1. PGXL/TGXL/AG are all powered off.

Click ATU and see about 10w (reported by FRstack).
Click Tune and see roughly 50w (which I expected)

TX settings are now intentionally set to 100w TX and 50w Tune while I chase this down.
TX delay remains at 40 (did not change the setting from my use with PGXL)

Can't figure out where the ATU is sending 10w anywhere — I've even done a full reset on the 6600 to no avail.

I happen to be on 20m during these tests, but similar results with 15/10m.

Ideas?? Helpdesk ticket?

Thanks, Martin KW1M

Yes, mine does that as well. I believe that is intended behavior to preserve the relays in the tuner.

Most important, what does FRStack show for SWR when you are transmitting 10 watt carrier?

have you verified TX antenna setting? (On slice flag TX antenna is shown in red).

Also try moving your antenna to antenna 2 on back of radio and switch Tax antenna on slice to ant2.

Last, back up profiles and try factory reset and move antenna back to TX1.

Moved dummy load to ANT2 and confirmed slice is RX/TX on Ant2.

Click ATU, see ~10w on FRstack, SWR=1.0 - 10m band.

Click YUNE, see ~50w on FRstack, SWR=1.0 - same 10m band

Already factory reset radio prior to dummy load test. no difference. But I'll do it again; nothing to lose.

Reset didn't help… ATU forces a 10w signal into dummy load, tune pwr setting of 50w only works when clicking tune, not ATU.
