PGXL New Firmware

Options

I am probably so far behind the curve that this was known to everyone but me. Flex announced firmware 3.8.9 back in December 2024 but I cannot find anything about the latest releases.

Anyway, in case you don't know see https://4o3a.com/support/downloads

for PGXL SO2R Firmware 3.9.1 and PGXL 3-Way Firmware 3.9.2

3.9.1 has not been tested or certified by Flex. I have not seen any release notes on 3.9.1 to see what it addresses.

If you purchased your PG XL from a distributor other than Flex, check with your distributor’s support on what the difference is and if you should upgrade your PG XL.

My distributor doesn't know. But 4O3A does.

Hello Erik, I have been testing the 3.9.1 for a few weeks now on my FLEX station and I seem to have less Interlock issues, when I do have it interlock most of the time it fix's itself on the next transmission. I think there has been only one time I have had to power down everything to get the interlock to reset compared to once every other day or more.

It seems to work at least for me better.

I think Since FLEX and 4O3A split the sheets they are not communicating very much so getting them to approve new firmware may take a LONG time if ever, I do know the TGXL firmware update took a VERY long time if ever to get on the approved list.

Be careful and get the correct model firmware because I see they are now building or soon will be a Multiport and HIGHER power versions of the PGXL which will un-doughtily have different firmware!

Hi Bret, I had no idea it had been available for weeks. Nobody said anything so far as I know, though I may have overlooked a notification. I only found out because I was communicating with 4O3A about my PGXLs. However, thanks for letting us know of your experience and that is good to know.

Yes I will be sure to check the correct model FW, I have the 2R and the 3Way and have the right downloads for each of them.

Apart from the hardware, I really like the 4O3 support. There is none of this "we appreciate your patience" canned garbage. They talk to you like a valued customer.
