CAT

Hi, how do I add COM ports in CAT? I have three COM ports in SmartSDR, one PTT port, and two TCP ports. Currently, to work with the logging program and WSJTX, I enable CAT in SmartSDR when working with Aether. I'd prefer to add these ports in Aether without having to use CAT in SSDR.

If you are using Windows for AetherSDR you cannot yet take advantage of the native in-built CAT and DAX and must use SmartSDR CAT and DAX. The AetherSDR roadmap shows that they intend to add CAT and DAX to the Windows version though no timeline is provided.

Meanwhile you can set WSJTx to use TCI Client RX1 with server Localhost:40001 or whatever port you have set in AetherSDR. Audio is TCI Audio for both input and output. This avoids CAT and DAX altogether.

I often run 3 or 4 instance of WSJT-X. I have not found a way to use TCI with more than 2 streams. Is TCI limited to two streams or am I missing something?

I thought TCI only supports one instance of WSJT-X.

In AetherSDR I am running 2 instances of JTDX on TCI Client RX1 and TCI Client RX2. In other words the limit is not TCI itself but the number of TCI receiver clients. In AetherSDR there are 4 such clients. WSJTX has provision for only 2 in its settings (same for JTDX).

Since a TCI RX can take multiple connections, maybe it is possible to get to 4 instances with 2x WSJTx and 2x JTDX. But I don't know, haven't tried it.
