Old radio maintenance?

I have an old 6500. It works great! Is there anything I should do to keep it that way. Is the SD card getting too old to be reliable? Other than a dusting, is there anything else to worry about?

Thanks, ****.

Flex does sell spare SD cards preloaded with v4 software for the different 6000 models. You can always order a spare and have it on hand in case of a failure of the card in your radio.

Support will send out an SD card after you open a Help Desk ticket and go through some troubleshooting steps to verify a bad card, but having a spare on hand can get you back on the air a little faster.

Every year, I open up the radio and clean the fans, inspect the connections to the back of the radio, and use some deoxit to clean the 12v connection. If you're going to clean the fans, be sure to prevent them from spinning on their own if using compressed air.
