Using 6500 remotely

I am having trouble getting my FLEX 6500 to be able to operate remotely. When I try to setup the SmartLink, it wants me to port foward a couple of ports TCP and UDP. It show to port numbers there "4993 and 4994" one for TCP and the other for UDP. When I pushed the test button and the test is complete it show "RED".

I went into my AT&T gateway and under NAT/forwarding I port forwarded TCP 4993 and UDP 4994 and tested SmarkLink again and it still shows "RED" not green. So what ports should I open up in my Router/Gateway?

Thanks, Bob W6MTM

    Hi Bob

I answered this in another posting, but it sounds like you have not done a hardware registration on the radio. See chapter 9 of the SmartSDR manua.

Thanks my friend, but I have done that. The radio is registered and my call sign is on the screen and the green check mark is on the screen. I think I am not putting in the right ports in my router. I have tried 4993 and 4994 and 21000 22000. Still not happy somewhere.

To help any further, we would need to see the router settings. Or, open a support ticket.
