Tried to open smartSDR on my Macbook

in SmartSDR for Mac

JUst tried to connect smartsdr with my new macbook. says it can not connect because the max slices have been used??? Do not normally use smart sdr but want to try to use it.

    Hi John… what Flex are you trying to connect to? Some have a max of 2 slice receivers active at the same time, others 4. And if you're running a Maestro that could be taking a slice as well, depending on how you have things configured.

    OK, AFAIK, the 8400 can support two active slices simultaneously, and the attached display takes up at least one, possibly two if you have either two slices open on the same band or two panadapters open on separate bands.

    Also, if you are operating SmartFlex which is where you have the front panel of the M and SmartSDR running on your PC, that's two slices — one on the M, the other on the PC.

    I don't have a MAC so I can't help you specifically on the SmartSDR for MAC software.

    It does the same thing on my windows 11 PC.

    You need to close at least one slice on the front panel.

    Good Morning Len. I only have one open. The B side in blank. It's a blue square with nothing in it. I do not use Smart SDR very often so my knowledge is limited.

    To say it another way, Flex software can only support 2 devices connected at the same time. So one PC/Mac and one Maestro, or two PC's/Mac or one of each.

    I am sooo embarrassed. I have spent a few days looking at this problem. Watching video's. Reading books. ect. The problem was that I did not have multiflex enabled. DUHHHHHHHHHH.
