I’m in group 1 but have heard nothing. We are now in the last month of Q1 26. Any idea when i might expect to hear something?

Curious when you pre-ordered. I’m also waiting and pre-ordered with group 1in Oct for a 510. Each day I get excited to check my email so no complaints.

Has anyone for any idea as to when the Aurora will land on these shores?
Yes, we voted for Brexit (don’t get me on that!) and yet, it seems that us Brits have been lumped into EU requirements for devices, even though we have since moved on with our regulations.

The UK distributors aren’t exactly on the front foot with updates (ironic in a communication hobby) and anything other than ‘they are working on some issue’ would be helpful.

The delay in shipping to the EU is due to the additional RED directive for cybersecurity certification.   We are wrapping up testing with the test house this week and awaiting the report which could take an additional one to two weeks.   Once we have an update on delivery schedules to the EU we will notify.  I hope to have more positive news within the next couple of weeks to share with them.  We look forward to getting our international customers on the air with Aurora as soon as possible.

my remark: Article 3(3)(i) and Article 4 of the Radio Equipment Directive (RED 2014/53/EU) have effectively been abandoned as of 16th jan 2026 by the EU

Yes, that was replaced by other laws.

I'm eager to order one, but waiting until the line starts moving. I'll pay it all upfront, cash in full.

@Mike-VA3MW there was nothing 'replaced' by other laws (?)

DARC: "The controversial Articles 3.3i and 4 of the Radio Equipment Directive 2014/53/EU (RED) will not be activated."

    https://www.darc.de/nachrichten/meldungen/aktuelles-details/news/piratenpartei-erwirkt-entschaerfung-der-funkrichtlinie/

A late 2025 EU impact assessment found implementing 3(3)(i)/4 would stifle innovation, burden SMEs/ham equipment makers, and yield negligible safety gains. On 20 Jan 2026, the Commission withdrew the initiative (marked "verworfen" in their database), as celebrated by DARC/Pirate Party.

There are sources stating that Articles 3.3(i) and 4 of the Radio Equipment Directive 2014/53/EU have never been activated. The key point is that these provisions only take effect if the European Commission issues a delegated act specifying device categories, which has not happened for 3.3(i).
