Is there a possibility that the 6000 series will stop receiving updates, like the older series that used PowerSDR?

I'd like to address some of the points raised, as Ha's comments are based on assumptions rather than verified data. Thank you for bringing this up.

To clarify for the community: many users have already successfully migrated to SmartSDR 4.1.5 on their 6000 series radios without issue, and this upgrade is available at no cost.

Comparing today's platform to PowerSDR isn't an apples-to-apples comparison. PowerSDR operated on a fundamentally different hardware architecture, where the computer itself served as an integral part of the radio's functionality. The FLEX-6000, 8000, and Aurora series are built on a unified architecture running SmartSDR, a platform designed from the ground up as a completely new solution. SmartSDR is a 'thin client' meaning it does not require any powerful computer.

FlexRadio is committed to continuing software bug fixes for the 6000 series, as well as ongoing feature development for the FLEX-6000, for as long as the hardware can support them, meaning any new features will be delivered without compromising radio performance.

well, even if that happens.. it would not be a big deal.. many users have not gone beyond 3.8.x due to problems and they can work normally.

But, it is promised that it will continue. On the other side..the takeover of powersdr by darren kohn has made it the best ham radio software of the planet.
