I use Linux on my notebook but given the issues I fight with Microsoft, Linux seems like an entire new set of problems. A wild guess is that porting SSDR to Linux isn’t trivial.

It is not trivial having many different flavors of Linux. Same with Android. Probably why you haven’t seen anything yet as support would be a chore for the developer.
A few people have been working on a Linux version. Flex Developer’s Program is designed to give developers the support they need to write client software and apps for the radio. SmartSDR for IOS and MAC were written and supported by Marcus, DL8MRE.2 -
Simon, NV0E has a working version for Linux right now. It is not ready for release yet, but it is getting close.

James, you are welcome to do that.

I am more interested in a Linux version of the CAT and DAX controls than the full version of SmartSDR as I use my Flex6400M from home and barely in remote.
I need to be able to link different software like Qlog or WSJT-X to the radio without having to go through the terminal commands with SOCAT73

Sadly, porting is not easy and usually not very successful. And, FRS, at this time, does not have a Linux version project on the planning books as there is so many other things pressing.
However, there are others working on a Linux Client. Search in the community for the details.

Thanks Len , I came accross nCAT and nDAX an hour ago from an article of Ellen Hardin AI7FP
Got it running now with QLog and Wsjt-x

Running QLolg WSJT-X, JTDX, QSSTV with my Flex6400M on Linux Mint.
Using HamLib and nCAT/nDAX.
UDP is working well between the chosen Mode and and the log.0 -
Well I am so fed up with W11 and Microsoft that I am about to throw everything out now I tested the great Expert Electronics SunSDRpro2 that has a perfectly working linux client that runs perfectly on Linux Mint Mate.
It is high Time Flex comes up with a proper Linux program as people worldwide are dramatically dropping out of Microsoft and Windows 11 because it is not reliable at all any more.
Flex, stay up with the competition please !!! Do not rely on others but make your own client for Linux. Soon nobody will buy radios anymore that only work with Windows or even worse Mac/Apple…
